Who is Seafood New Zealand?
Seafood New Zealand is the peak body for New Zealand's seafood industry. The industry plays a key role in the country's economy, contributing around $2 billion in export dollars and employing more than 47,000 people who provide New Zealand and the world with high quality, nutritious and great tasting seafood.
Seafood New Zealand has a small team of specialists and support staff who work on behalf of the industry to provide services across a range of disciplines.
Seafood New Zealand has two subsidiary companies, Commercial Fisheries Services Ltd (FishServe) and Seafood Innovations Ltd (SIL).
Seafood Standards Council (SSC)
The Seafood Standards Council (SSC) is an official committee of Seafood New Zealand and the Ministry for Primary Industries. Its primary focus is food safety and market access for seafood produced in New Zealand.
